Top Badminton Player Signs Multi-Year Deal with Wilson.

Wilson Racquet Sports has signed an agreement with Shintaro Ikeda, a badminton mixed doubles player from Nihon Unisys Badminton Club.

Ikeda has won numerous titles as a Japanese top-class doubles player, including the All Japan Badminton Championships and a men's doubles bronze medal at BWF World Championships, which was a first for a Japanese badminton doubles player. Recently, Ikeda was a semifinalist at the 2008 All England Super Series event and represented his country in the Beijing Olympics. He has been ranked Top 10 in men’s doubles and recently switched to mixed doubles in April last year.

“Ikeda is a great ambassador and strongly supports Wilson’s ambitious philosophy to promote and develop the sport of badminton,” Alexander Selch, Global Business Director of Indoor Racquet Sports said.

Currently, Ikeda is training with his Vertex BLX badminton racket for the 2012 Olympic Games. Wilson will provide worldwide support to Ikeda on his global tour and utilize his expertise during product development.
